ELECTIONS

Since 2016, regular elections for the Noordkamer occur every five years on the last Wednesday of October. After these elections, the king appoints an Advisor General, who will try to form a government and, if necessary, investigate on forehand which parties are able to form a coalition, when no party has an absolute majority in the parliament. The new government (Oostkamer) is sworn in on the following first Friday of February. Since the last time the constitution was changed, the Noordkamer has 101 seats.
